DSW-Zappos settle lawsuit related to marketing

DSW Inc and Zappos announced the companies have reached a settlement in a lawsuit brought by DSW in May 2008. The lawsuit related to affiliated marketing over the Internet that included the DSW name. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
"We are pleased to have reached an agreement with DSW on this issue," said Millie Lauren Chou, Associate General Counsel of Zappos. Bill Jordan, General Counsel of DSW Inc., stated, "We respect Zappos as a competitor, and this case provides a framework for discussing intellectual property and brand equity issues in the affiliate advertising context."
DSW Inc is a leading branded footwear specialty retailer that offers a wide selection of brand name and designer dress, casual and athletic footwear for women and men.
