Gerber Technology, a business unit of Gerber Scientific Inc, the world leader in automated CAD/CAM and PLM solutions for the sewn products and flexible materials industry, announced the release of webFolio 2.0, part of their Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution for the digital design, collaboration and creation of collections.

Gerber Technology's webFolio 2.0 functions as a globally-accessible solution enabling designers to organize and create content in a digital environment and effectively communicate information with internal associates, customers and vendors. webFolio 2.0 is easy to learn and operate allowing it to rapidly become one of the most essential tools within a designer's tool kit, as it can be used as a stand alone product or easily integrated with Gerber's webPDM product. This robust and intuitive format is the ideal solution for the creation, organization and management of Apparel collections.

With webFolio 2.0, we've added and enhanced highly desirable features while simultaneously making the interface more intuitive and the overall product more flexible,” says Elizabeth King, Director of Software Applications for Gerber Technology. “Designers can easily and effectively organize and create content, as well as input ideas and designs created with the most widely used 3rd party design tools. The software transforms the design environment into structured collections with Design Plans, Styles and Storyboards incorporating images, sketches or photographs.”

webFolio 2.0 further boasts global access for collaboration and large scale printing, making it an essential tool for development and sourcing of today's apparel, soft and hard goods products, thus catapulting operational effectiveness and increasing productivity.

webFolio 2.0 fully integrates with Gerber's popular webPDM product for reliable product data management serving to streamline product development and substantially enhance new product turnaround. Bi-directional flow of data keeps all systems synchronized while allowing users to edit and make changes within the system they utilize most often.

Realizing that enhancing this user-friendly and feature-rich application for global collaboration was vital for today's fast-pace world of fashion design and product lifecycle management, Gerber's software development team obtained input and suggestions from users worldwide.

“We are very pleased with the enhancements we have been able to deliver to designers, merchandisers and product managers with this latest version of webFolio,” King notes. “This release represents the culmination of a lot of great user feedback and fresh ideas. From multiple product views to drag-and-drop functionality, webFolio 2.0 is certain to be a new benchmark and we are excited to announce its launch to market.”
