Specialist software provider Syscom PLC is holding a free online webinar on Tuesday 5th May 2009, for textile and apparel companies. The event will showcase how companies can use the latest features of Microsoft Dynamics AX business software, to help save money and drive productivity throughout their organisation.

The Webinar is completely free and can be viewed from any PC with internet access. Syscom PLC, a Microsoft Gold Partner, has been a leading provider of business software to textile and apparel companies, in both the UK and Ireland, for over 30 years.

The event is aimed at companies that manufacture and/or distribute textile based products from consumer and industrial fabrics to home goods and carpets, as well as clothing, designer lines and fashion accessories. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from industry experts on how using this industry specific business application can improve profitability, increase efficiency and drive competitiveness.

Syscom PLC has over 30 years experience providing software solutions and with expert industry knowledge, they have an understanding of the key challenges facing the textile and apparel industry. “Global competition and the current economic climate make it more important than ever for companies to have the correct systems in place,” says John Moses, Managing Director of Syscom.

“Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the textile and apparel market place, offering key industry functionality such as transaction-driven item coding, which allows for a wide range of item identifiers including style, colour, size and finishing variables”.

One particular success story in the Syscom portfolio, is leading leisure and lifestyle clothing provider, Weird Fish. Weird Fish's expansion has been phenomenal with a turnover increase of 166% over four years. As a result of their rapid growth, Weird Fish recognised the need to improve their current software and IT systems. Several key business issues forced the change, “There was a real lack of automation,” says Jon Goodwin, Financial Controller of Weird Fish. “Our distribution and stock management systems were not integrated with our accounting software so we often had disparity in information and had to constantly update two systems”.

Ian Edwards, General Manager at Weird Fish says, “After considering several companies within the market, we decided on Syscom due to their market focus. Their industry expertise became evident during the sales process and we felt they were a company we could form a long-term partnership with to develop our business.”

Since implementing Microsoft Dynamics AX, Jon says “our customers have reported improved order accuracy and our order turn-around time has been reduced by around 70%”.
