Shoe Palace, headquartered in San Jose, CA, looks back at 2009 as a year of rapid growth, as many retailers found themselves downsizing, or closing their businesses all together during one of the toughest economic times since the Great Depression.

“Shoe Palace has shown incredible growth since we began working with the company in 2006, and this year has been no exception,” said Dan Friedman, President of JDS Solutions, a premier provider of retail management software. “We work closely with our clients to make sure we are responsive to their individual needs. Shoe Palace is going through many changes due to their rapid growth; our instant availability to both support and development has helped to this end,” explained Friedman.

Shoe Palace is currently opening its 24th store in Ontario, California, the 12th Shoe Palace store opening in 2009 statewide. “This year has been an opportunistic time for those retailers who see themselves in this for the long run,” said George Mersho, whose family opened the first Shoe Palace store 15 years ago in San Jose, CA. “As we add more stores, our technology needs and requirements change,” explained Mersho.

“We've turned to JDS to help us communicate better with Nike, one of our major suppliers, in order to get better deliveries and help with our merchandise assortment mix. It's critical during these times to have a technology partner like JDS that helps make growing your business easier,” said Mersho.
