NGC (New Generation Computing) announced that Mark Burstein, VP of PLM & Global Sourcing Solutions, will speak at an NRF Big Ideas Sessions, “Retail 2010 IT Forecast,” sponsored by ARTS (the Association for Retail Technology Standards). NGC will speak along with executives from ARTS, RIS News, IHL Group, BJ's Wholesale Club and Burlington Coat Factory. NGC is a leading provider of PLM, Global Sourcing and CPSIA software solutions for retailers, brands and consumer products companies.

The session is one of the annual NRF highlights in retail technology, as participants discuss retailers' top priorities in Information Technology and how ARTS is developing standards to support them. The session takes place on Monday, Jan. 11, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. in Expo Hall room 3D09.

In addition, NGC will co-sponsor the ARTS Standards Pavilion at NRF booth #2037 and will participate in a panel discussion on PLM at the ARTS booth on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 10:30 a.m. NGC is a member of the ARTS committee to develop retail PLM standards and is working with retailers and other technology vendors to develop an XML schema representation for the product development lifecycle. NGC will demonstrate e-PLM and e-SPS, the industry's most comprehensive end-to-end PLM and global sourcing encompassing the entire product lifecycle for apparel, footwear and accessories.

“NGC is excited to be participating in NRF this year and to be working with ARTS and others to develop retail PLM standards,” said Alan Brooks, president, NGC. “PLM is one of the most essential, proven technologies for helping retailers become more competitive. Companies that invest in PLM are positioning themselves for long-term success and increased market share as the economy slowly regains momentum.”
