Lawson Software announced that Lawson Channel Partner Softlab has signed a contract for the implementation of Lawson for Fashion with Grifone. Grifone will replace its legacy software with the industry-specific Lawson solution for the fashion industry and use it for the three major areas finance, commercial, manufacturing and planning.

The Lawson solution will help Grifone manage its supply chain and help drive business efficiency, which can ultimately help support the company's market position. The contract with Grifone was signed during Lawson's third quarter of fiscal 2010, which ended Feb. 28, 2010.

Grifone, based in La Seu in the Spanish Pyrenees, is a full line supplier of technical and functional inner/mid/outerwear designed for active outdoor use and for the public sector like forest guards and police. The company was founded in 1980 by a group of textile industry entrepreneurs with the mission to produce specialized, highly engineered garments for extreme environments. By 1985, Grifone had initiated a relationship with the Gore-Tex family of fabrics and was expanding its product line and reputation throughout the European specialty outdoor community.

Grifone has outfitted expeditions to Mt. Everest, the North Pole, Antarctica, the African rainforest, as well as multiple professional alpinists. The benefits of these design refinements are essential and Grifone is committed to providing the highest level of consistency across all departments - from the selection of high-performance fabrics, ergonomic garment design and tailoring, production control, logistics, distribution, and ultimate customer service.

Like most international companies today, the Grifone line is produced in various manufacturing sites throughout the world. Currently the company is expanding into the Asian and the North American markets.

"We need to be well positioned to manage our business for the current economic climate as well as future growth. Therefore we decided to invest in a new business system, Lawson for Fashion, to help provide tangible financial and operational benefits. It's important for growing companies like Grifone to have the right systems and processes in place to help improve the operational business performance and gain shares in new markets," said Pere Agell, General Manager for Grifone.

"Our industry-tailored solution, Lawson for Fashion, helps support growing companies like Grifone along with the solid implementation expertise of our partner Softlab to help improve profits, manage complex supply chains and accelerate time-to-market," said Joan Ferrán, country manager for Lawson in Spain.

"Together with channel and implementation partners like Softlab we can deliver products and expertise that will ultimately help make our customers stronger and more competitive. With more than 350 fashion customers globally, Lawson helps fashion companies connect business processes from product concept through to the customer helping companies achieve their goals."
