Coldwater Creek launches mobile compatible website

Coldwater Creek, the multi-channel retailer of women's apparel, jewelry, fashion and home accessories, and gift items, launched a mobile website on June 24, 2010 that supports the iPhone and Android platforms. The new mobile website is an optimized version of Coldwater Creek's ecommerce site that allows for easy viewing and navigation from these mobile devices. Coldwater Creek is one of the first women's apparel companies to launch a mobile website.
Utilizing resized and reformatted versions of the pages of the brand's ecommerce site, coldwatercreek.com, the new mobile website allows the user to see each page, in full, on the screen of an iPhone or Android, eliminating the need to scroll or zoom. Navigation throughout the shopping experience has been optimized for touch screen devices.
"We are committed to delivering an exceptional brand experience that reflects our customers' lifestyle, so we are excited to be adding this kind of technology into our multi-channel retail mix," said Dan Moen, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Chief Information Officer of Coldwater Creek. He added, "Since the launch, we have already seen a significant increase in page views per site visit from mobile phones. We believe this can be directly attributed to the improved shopping experience."
To access Coldwater Creek's new mobile website, iPhone and Android users type coldwatercreek.com into the web browser on their mobile device and are automatically connected to the mobile version. The company plans to roll out its mobile website to other smartphone devices in the near future.
