World Maker Faire to host Diana Eng's Technology Fashion Show

In 1964 the World's Fair was a showcase of innovation. On September 25th, 2010 at World Maker Faire, Diana Eng will present the latest innovation in fashion. At 2pm, Models will walk the runway in a high-end fashion show, featuring designs that are electronic, shape transforming, motion sensing, and biomimetic.
World Maker Faire showcases the best of do-it-yourself science and technology, making it the perfect setting for Diana Eng's technology-based fashion and runway show. Included in the show is a dress inspired by bioluminescent jellyfish and fabricated with electroluminescent wire. Also featured are clothes with deployable structures mimicking opening leaves.
As a former Project Runway contestant from Season 2, Diana Eng utilizes math, science, and technology to create whimsical designs. She is inspired by fairytales, sea creatures, and tea parties, and her designs are made possible by technologies such as deployable structures, microcontrollers, and number patterns.
"World Maker Faire is the ideal location for my Fashion Show," said Diana Eng, designer. "World Maker Faire is filled with creations made by the type of garage inventors who pioneered the airplane and personal computer. My fashion designs are made with the same spirit of invention. Fashion Week is right around the corner from World Maker Faire making this the perfect opportunity to bring together the fashion industry and today's inventors to look at what fashion will be like tomorrow."
