Lectra to participate in AFINGO's Behind the Seams

Lectra, the world leader in integrated technological solutions for industries that use soft materials -- textiles, leather, industrial fabrics and composites -- is pleased to support the growing online community in the apparel manufacturing industry and the preservation of NYC's fashion community through its sponsorship in the AFINGO.COM's "Behind the Seams" on October 8th at the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC (on Seventh Avenue at 27th Street).
This all day event will bring together thousands of professionals with leaders of the fashion industry to discuss important issues in the apparel industry. Presented by AFINGO.COM, the leading social networking platform for the apparel community, Behind the Seams has partnered with MAGIC Marketplace and MAGIC Sourcing to donate a portion of the event's proceeds to New York's SAVE THE GARMENT DISTRICT organization in an effort to help preserve the neighborhood and the businesses in it.
During the event, Lectra's School Partnership Program Manager in the US, Hari Kenkare will participate in a panel titled, Getting it Made: Factory to Funding, where industry leaders discuss development, production and how to cost. This panel will take place from 3:30 to 5:00pm.
"Lectra has a rich history in the fashion community, with more than 35 years of experience and investment in innovation for fashion, and a history of collaboration with some of the biggest names in the industry," according to Roy Shurling, President of Lectra North America. "Additionally we are committed to supporting the growing social networking community of designers. We are pleased to participate in AFINGO's Behind the Seams in support of two very important initiatives."
According to Liza Deyrmenjian, AFINGO's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, "We are seeing an explosion of growth in the fashion community online, including designers, manufacturers, retailers, and of course consumers, as well. We at AFINGO are pleased to see forward-thinking companies like Lectra who are so committed to this industry and to the future of the apparel industry."
