YM Inc to adopt Island Pacific smart retail suite

Island Pacific, a division of 3Q Holdings, advised that the Company had signed an agreement to implement its new and innovative core merchandising software suite, Island Pacific SmartRetail, at YM Inc. (Sales), a North American retailer that sells under the banners Stitches, Sirens, Urban Planet, Siblings, Bluenotes, and Suzy Shier.

Island Pacific SmartRetail is a key product in the suite of 3Q Holdings' wholly owned US and European based subsidiary, Island Pacific. Island Pacific will be implementing several new features included in its SmartRetail suite including a ground breaking Web 2.0 user interface and a powerful rules-based Purchasing system that will deliver significant benefits and cost savings to the YM organization managing Blockouts and Purchase Orders.

A unique feature of Island Pacific's philosophy and a part of the Island Pacific tradition which is exemplified by this implementation is collaboration between a software vendor and its customers. Island Pacific SmartRetail is built using extensible Service Oriented Architecture and Island Pacific is simultaneously implementing its base product while YM is gaining the knowledge to be able to build their own components using this framework.

These operations include core merchandising, point-of-sale, customer relationship management, vendor relationship management, demand forecasting, planning, replenishment, allocation, promotional and event planning.
