Bon-Ton taps dynaTrace for to optimize e-commerce

The Bon-Ton Stores Inc a leading retailer of brand-name fashion apparel, accessories and home furnishings has selected dynaTrace's application performance management (APM) system. Bon-Ton is using dynaTrace to optimize the performance, scalability and stability of its recently implemented IBM e-commerce platform at a time when the retailer's online business is growing dramatically.

In the third quarter conference call, Bud Bergen, President and CEO of Bon-Ton Stores noted that the company's e-commerce sales are up more than 75% year-to-date – and that the company expects to continue this dramatic e-commerce growth during the holiday selling season.1

“We know that enhancing the speed and stability of our new e-commerce platform is critical to accelerate our rapid e-commerce growth,” said Dan Gerard, Bon-Ton's Divisional Vice President of Technologies and Web Services. “In evaluating APM products, dynaTrace distinguished itself through its rapid implementation, ease of use, and the deep visibility it provided into our WebSphere e-commerce system's performance. The open nature of dynaTrace's plug-in framework has been particularly helpful to extend and automate our application performance management. We see dynaTrace playing an essential role in helping prepare for the holiday shopping season and beyond.”
