This initiative aims to make economic data more accessible to researchers, students, and the general public. The app offers access to over 11,000 different economic data series, presenting a comprehensive view of the Indian economy. Users can view time-series data in graphical and chart formats, making it easier to analyse and interpret trends. Each dataset includes details such as the data source, unit of measurement, frequency, and recent updates, along with additional notes to enhance understanding.
The ‘Popular Reports’ section features frequently accessed reports, while a search function allows users to find specific data directly from the home screen without navigating through multiple sections.
The app includes a ‘Banking Outlet’ section to help users locate banking facilities within a 20 km radius. A dedicated ‘SAARC Finance’ link provides access to economic data from SAARC countries, the central bank said in a release.
RBIDATA also offers quick access to the Database on the Indian Economy portal and is available for both iOS and Android users (version 12 and above). The app includes a feedback feature to improve its functionality.
