Fine cotton yarn rises further in Mumbai on strong domestic demand

In Mumbai, superfine cotton yarn faced a demand–supply mismatch. Strong demand pushed prices of superfine cotton yarn up by &#****;*–* per kg. A trader from the Mumbai market told Fibre*Fashion, “Domestic demand for finer count cotton yarn was higher than for coarse counts. However, overall demand for cotton yarn remained average. Power looms and auto looms are running at **–** per cent capacity due to limited fabric buying.”

In Mumbai, ** carded yarn of warp and weft varieties were traded at &#****;*,***-*,*** (~$**.**-**.**) and &#****;*,***-*,*** per * kg (~$**.**-**.**) (excluding GST), respectively. Other prices include ** combed warp at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, ** carded weft at &#****;*,***-*,*** (~$**.**-**.**) per *.* kg, **/** carded warp at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, **/** carded warp at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg and **/** combed warp at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, according to trade sources.
