Ludhiana opened the week with steady cotton yarn prices and sluggish demand. A Ludhiana-based trader told Fibre2Fashion, “Mills are looking to increase cotton yarn prices by &#****;* per kg as they expect better demand in the transition phase from winter to summer garments, when cotton consumption typically rises. However, slow payment cycles are limiting lifting in the market.”

In Ludhiana, ** count cotton combed yarn was sold at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg (inclusive of GST); ** and ** count combed yarn were traded at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg and &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, respectively; and carded yarn of ** count was noted at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg today, according to trade sources.
