The combination of recycled fibres and Radianza is very unique as both the raw materials – recycled cotton & Radianza are eco-friendly, there is no need to dye the yarn and the yarns could be developed in solid shades due to the ability to get Radianza in shades matching with the cotton obtained from the waste.
"We are a company that specialises into recycled yarns. Our brand 'Cyclo Fibres' is getting popular with a lot of brands and retailers around the world. We are committed to providing sustainable products to the apparel industry. With Radianza we found a solution that is both sustainable and fashion-friendly. Radianza is made using eco-friendly processes and gives us a range of colour options to choose from to match the colour that our buyers need. We have a range of yarns now available with Radianza," said Mustafain Minor, director of Simco.
The benefits of Radianza fibre to the environment got evident once TAF conducted an independent third party Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study of Radianza fibre starting from polymerisation to garment disposal. The results were significantly better than other fibres and when compared to conventional dyeing the usage of Radianza fibre showed 20 times less Global Warming Potential, 7 times less Blue Water consumption and similar results in the 8 other parameters related to environment impact.
"We are proud to be associated with Simco who are doing wonderful work in the area of eco-friendly textiles. We will promote Cyclo-fibre with Radianza to the whole value chain as it is the need of the hour. With Radianza we have been trying to address the issue of water consumption and water pollution and we are glad to find a partner in Simco to further strengthen our cause," said Satyaki Ghosh, CEO – domestic textiles & acrylic fibre business, Aditya Birla Group.
The yarns are now commercially available and developments are being done for a number of brands that are looking for sustainable products.
