South India cotton yarn trade steady amid slow demand

In Mumbai, cotton yarn prices remained steady amid slow demand. Power and auto looms are facing a shortage of workers, affecting production. A trader from Mumbai told Fibre*Fashion, “The Bihar election delayed workers’ return from their native places. Had there been no election, they would have returned after Diwali and Chhath Puja. The shortage of workers has also disrupted garment manufacturing activities. The market may see better trading activity next week.”
