Worker absence weighs on manmade yarn demand in India, prices ease

The Ludhiana market witnessed weak demand for polyester and PC yarn. Polyester yarn prices eased by &#****;*–* per kg. A trader from the market told Fibre2Fashion, “Manmade yarn remained very slow. Only a few counts and varieties have seen price drops. Industrial activity has not picked up after Diwali due to the prolonged holiday of workers from Bihar. It remains uncertain when polyester and viscose yarn will find support from the consumer industry.”
