Americhem gets ISO certification for Ohio production plant

Americhem Inc., a global provider of custom colour and additive solutions, has received the ISO 14001 certification for its Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio manufacturing plant.

The certification standard recognizes Americhem’s special focus on environmental management to ensure social well-being in addition to business goals. The certification audit was performed by Eagle Registrations, Inc.

Americhem’s plant has now become one of the few in the industry to carry these three distinctions. A cross-functional certification team worked for well over a year to fulfil the necessary requirements according to a press release.

One of the main outcomes of the certification is the development and implementation of systems that continuously reduce waste. The certification was attained with Americhem’s corporate structure in mind, so that eventually, this registration will be rolled out to Americhem’s other seven manufacturing plants.

Linda Manfull, plant manager said, “This certification represents a commitment to the environment and the community. It also helped formalize an environmental policy for Americhem, requiring us to work with government, businesses and advocacy groups in the community to develop policies that improve safety, health and the environment. This benefits our employees as well as the community at large.”
