Textile and Apparel Solutions

SigNature® T

DNA is a unique, botanical-based tagging and authentication system specifically designed for textiles and apparel. This innovative technology provides the solution to protect the original raw material by tagging it at the initial level, and then verifying throughout the supply chain to ensure purity as it is manufactured into yarn, fabric and finished goods.

SigNature T DNA is a secure and cost-effective way to assure quality in natural and synthetic fibers, offering forensic-level authentication at any point in the supply chain, from fiber to finished goods.

  • Custom-designed DNA tags are unique and traceable to each customer, product, batch or lot
  • SigNature T DNA tags cannot be copied
  • Robust, strongly adherent to fiber, yarn or fabric
  • No impact on performance or quality of material
  • Economical, easy to apply on large scale

SigNature T can be used in wide range of varied applications like consumer apparels, home textiles or industrial treatments. The flexible nature of SigNature T facilitates the addition of the tag at virtually any stage of textile production, with minimal impact to existing process.

fiberTyping®

Developed and patented by Applied DNA in 2009, fiberTyping® is a DNA test that can be used to determine if a Pima-labeled product contains the original cotton species (Gossypium barbadense or Pima, vs Gossypium hirsutum or upland). It can be used to test finished goods as the first step to evaluating the cotton content. It is a powerful tool to help the cotton industry ensure that products labeled as 100% ELS, or 100% Pima, are compliant with label claims.

GeoTyping

An enhanced genotyping program to identify specific cultivars located in certain geographies is being developed in collaboration with the US Department of Agriculture.
