Bangladesh apparel exports down 6.21% in July-Dec FY20

Category-wise, knitwear exports fell 5.16 per cent to $8.205 billion in the first six months of fiscal 2019-20, as against exports of $8.652 billion during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, as per the data.
Likewise, exports of woven apparel decreased 7.28 per cent to $7.818 billion during the period under review, compared to exports of $8.432 billion during July-December 2019-20.
Woven and knitted apparel and clothing accessories’ exports together accounted for 83 per cent of $19.302 billion worth of total exports made by Bangladesh during the July-December period.
In the last fiscal ending June 30, 2019, garment exports from Bangladesh crossed the $34-billion mark.
