Sustainable Textile School to focus on circular recycling

The 2nd edition of the Sustainable Textile School, a marketplace for innovation and increase awareness on sustainability in the textile industry, will focus on various methods to engineer the circular recycling chain. The event will help in formation of a marketplace for innovation and further education with a focus on sustainability in the textile industry.

The three-day textile school event will begin from September 10 in Chemnitz, Germany, aims to establish a global textile engineering platform.

The Sustainable Textile School 2018 will host the Environmental Innovation Prize for practically and environmentally friendly subsequent utilisation processes and ground-breaking recycling, enabling to save resources and transferring to closed loops. Moreover, new sources and business models for producing high-quality and sustainable textile products having a long-life and usage are part of this year’s prize, Sustainable Textile School press release said.

More than 200 professionals and students from all sectors of the textile industry will attend the event. As many as ten lectures and five accompanying presentations at the event will focus on the main recycling and sourcing issues which the textile industry faces today. This year´s edition will have longer and more intense lectures combined with workshops. (RR)
