Jockey India plans to double its annual production capacity from 200 million pieces at present to 400 million pieces by 2020. Page Industries is the exclusive licensee of US firm Jockey International Inc. for manufacture, distribution and marketing of the Jockey brand in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates. The brand currently has 17 production units in Karnataka.
The company, which has about 370 exclusive stores across the country and sells out of 50,000 multi-brand outlets in 1,400 centres, also wants to increase the number of its exclusive stores in the country, Genomal told a news agency recently.
