Bangladesh recently announced the recipients of the National Export Trophy for the fiscal 2021-22.
Rifat Garments Ltd, prominently featured as the recipient of the prestigious Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Export Trophy.
This accolade is bestowed upon entities that demonstrated excellence in securing the highest export proceeds annually.
Notably, this marks the second consecutive year that Rifat Garments, a subsidiary of the Ha-Meem Group, has earned this esteemed recognition, as per the notification from the commerce ministry.
In addition to honouring Rifat Garments, the government is set to commend a total of 77 exporters across 28 categories for their significant contributions to the nation’s export earnings and broader economy.
These announcements come following the recognition of 73 firms for their exceptional performance in fiscal 2020-21, further emphasising the government’s commitment to acknowledging outstanding achievements in the export sector.
The National Export Trophy is presented in three tiers – gold, silver, and bronze.
Among the recipients, 28 firms have been designated for gold awards, 27 for silver, with the remainder receiving bronze recognition, according to the official notification.
During fiscal 2021-22, Bangladesh recorded exports amounting to $52 billion, reflecting a notable increase in trade activity. Subsequently, the nation witnessed a nearly 7 per cent growth in export value, reaching $55 billion in the following fiscal year, as indicated by data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).
