Bitopi Group to invest $9.58 mn for Sonar Manufacturing unit in Dhaka

Sonar Manufacturing Limited, a sister concern of Bangladesh’s Bitopi Group, will set up a readymade garment unit in the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) with an investment of $9.58 million. The company will produce 2.93 million pieces of woven and knit (jacket, bottom) garments every year. More than 1,500 will get employment in this factory.

Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) member for investment promotion Ali Reza Mazid and company managing director Mishal Ali signed an agreement in this regard recently, according to Bangladeshi media reports.
Two other companies of this group—Baridhi Garments Ltd in Cumilla export processing zone (EPZ) and Croydon-Kowloon Designs Ltd in Dhaka EPZ—are operating in the sector as well.
