The Russian minister of industry and trade Denis Manturov recently launched a project to construct the Vetanna factory in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar region, of the Bris-Bosporus group of companies to create a full-scale import-substituting production centre of leather footwear. He also visited one of Russia's largest shoe factories, OOO Bris-Bosporus.
Production automation and new capacities will raise the output by more than 50 per cent, a ministry press release quoted the minister as saying.
The ministry plans to introduce the marking of footwear in 2018, which will ensure the traceability of the market and strengthen the fight against smuggling. (DS)
