Takihyo's Q3 FY21 sales slip to ¥38 bn

Takihyo, a manufacturer of apparel and textile products, posted 19.8 per cent sales decline to ¥37.7 billion (Japanese yen) in its third quarter (Q3) FY21, ended on November 30, 2020, compared to sales of ¥46.9 billion in the same period previous fiscal. Operating loss during the quarter was ¥543 million compared to operating profit of ¥410 million in Q3 FY20.
Ordinary loss for Q3 FY21 was ¥399 million (Q3 FY20: operating profit ¥483 million). Loss attributable to owners of parents was ¥710 million (profit: ¥383 million). Gross profit slipped to ¥7.6 billion (¥9.4 billion). Selling, general and administrative expenses were down to ¥8.2 billion (¥8.9 billion).
Company in its press release has stated that the recovery of fashion-related consumption is slow except at some major specialist retailers. Takhiyo has planned new categories and developed new retail businesses (B2C, D2C) for which it will set up several specialised organisations and strengthen cooperation with a team of external experts.
