Turkey apparel exports up 4.7% from Jan-Oct 2018

Apparel exports from Turkey increased by 4.7 per cent in the first ten months of 2018, according to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute. From January to October 2018, Turkey exported apparel worth $12.897 billion, compared to exports of $12.317 billion clocked during the first ten months of 2017, the data showed.

Category-wise, exports of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS chapter 61) earned $7.586 billion during the ten-month period, registering an increase of 3.5 per cent over exports of $7.330 billion during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Exports of non-knitted apparel and accessories (HS chapter 62) were valued at $5.310 billion, up 6.5 per cent from $4.986 billion exports made in the same period of 2017.
Meanwhile, exports of carpets, mats and tapestries (HS chapter 57) were up 5.5 per cent to $1.846 billion during the period under review. (PC)
