The project will equip the women with market-oriented leadership skills. It will strengthen women’s advocacy and negotiation skills within the workplace and in their communities to advance their rights and help them overcome gender-related barriers and the impact of the pandemic, said the US Embassy in Dhaka.
USAID mission director in Dhaka Kathryn D Stevens, Bangladesh labour and employment secretary Mohammad Ehsan-E-Elahi, Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) director Shehrin Salam Oishee and representatives from global fashion brand PVH launched the project.
USAID and CARE will work with PVH in factories and communities in Dhaka, Chattogram and Narayanganj districts.
