Isaac Dabah, chief executive officer of Tel Aviv-based apparel manufacturer and marketer Delta Galil Industries Limited, recently received an award in memory of the company founder Dov Lautman from US Senator Ben Cardin, ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, at the Inaugural Sadat Congressional Luncheon on Capitol Hill.
The award was presented for Delta Galil’s enduring efforts in fostering peace in the Middle East through regional commerce. The ceremony was attended by diplomats, Jewish community leaders and organizational heads supporting efforts to award late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat with a Congressional Gold Medal.
Delta Galil, which employs more than 3,000 people in Egypt, is in the final stages of opening a fourth plant there, a press release from the company said quoting Dabah.
A strong supporter of the coexistence between Israel and its neighbours, Lautman established the first Israeli manufacturing facility in Egypt. (DS)
