Damartex FY20 result: turnover €686 mn; net loss €59 mn

Damartex, a French company specialising in clothing, reported 4.7 per cent turnover decline to €686.2 million in fiscal 2020 ended on June 30, 2020 compared to turnover of €720.0 million in previous fiscal. Group incurred a net loss of €59.4 million (FY19: €33.4 million) during the year. Operating EBITDA fell 74.8 per cent to €3.5 million (€13.9 million).

According to the group’s press release, fashion division sales were down 8.8per cent to €500.0 million. However home & lifestyle business grew 7.7 per cent to €164.1 million due to a dynamic second half of the year.
The newly created healthcare division which includes the Sédagyl and Santéol brands, grew 13.5 per cent to €22.1 million. Capex for the year was €12.6 million (€17.2 million).
