The Global Fashion Summit 2024, to be hosted by the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) in Copenhagen from May 21-23, is gearing up to present a programme under the theme 'Unlocking the Next Level'. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the summit aims to reflect on the transformative journey of the fashion industry while spotlighting a meticulously curated programme designed to navigate the sector towards a sustainable future.

This year's programme aligns with the dynamic shifts in the global landscape and the evolving needs of the fashion industry, focusing on five sustainability priorities: respectful and secure work environments, better wage systems, resource stewardship, smart material choices, and circular systems. These pillars are critical in guiding the industry towards a vision of a net-positive impact, GFA said.

The aim is to provide intersectional solutions and knowledge inputs that cater to the needs of a broad spectrum of sector participants. This approach acknowledges the fact that achieving a net-positive industry requires collective action and shared knowledge.

The summit will feature educational and action-oriented conversations on a range of integral topics that are at the heart of the sustainability discourse in fashion. These include discussions on the worldview on net positive, strategies for ending oversupply, innovative models for collective financing, the preferred fibre face-off to promote the use of sustainable materials, tipping the scale on circular material adoption, and the critical role of inclusion as an enabler for access and equity. Moreover, the programme will delve into the importance of elevating the consumer-citizen role.
