Chennai-based Indian Terrain Fashions is expecting 20 per cent growth in the financial year 2018. With smaller cities gaining prominence and witnessing traction, the company is also focusing to penetrate deeper into tier-I, II and III cities. The brand is also working on strengthening its direct-to-customer approach for expanding its market.

The apparel retail in India is expected to grow robust and witness healthy demand and the brand is poised well to capitalise on the momentum. Wholesale dispatches have started picking-up and the company is gearing for a great festive season.

"As many as 85 new retail counters are being planned in FY 2018 across exclusive outlets and departmental stores. Pragmatic approach on specific markets and location will help ensure early wins and build momentum fast," said the company in an investor presentation.

In India, the company is selling its garments at 142 exclusive outlets, 249 departmental stores. It also retails through more than 1,200 multi-branded outlets and over seven e-commerce sites.

In order to achieve the target for FY18, the company is focusing on making improvements in its products and is also planning for appropriate investments on product line extensions that enhance core brand value and premium positioning. "Boyswear is driving fast towards the 2x goal with the support of product positioning and value proposition," it added. (RR)
