ABFRL reports Q3 YoY revenue of ₹6,956 crore

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd (ABFRL), an Indian clothing retail chain, reported revenue from operations increased to ₹2,583 crore in third quarter (Q3) FY20 that ended on December 31, 2019, compared to ₹2,282 crore in same period prior year. Revenue for Year-over-Year (YoY) basis increased to ₹6,956 crore compared to ₹6,202 crore in FY19.

The company reported that the revenue for Madura Fashion & Lifestyle increased in Q3 FY20 to ₹1,533 crore and YoY basis to ₹4,236 crore. Lifestyle brands registered e-commerce growth rapidly by 45 per cent YoY. Women's (35 per cent) and kid's wear (21 per cent) also posted an aggressive growth in Q3 FY20.
 
Pantaloons in the quarter reportedly delivered a robust performance with 13 per cent growth in the quarter to ₹1,083 crore and 13 per cent YoY basis to ₹2,887 crore. Pantaloons improved product aesthetics and better availability driving performance during the quarter.  
 
ABFRL reported total income in the third quarter and YoY basis both rose to ₹2,597 crore and ₹7,005 crore respectively. 
 
Total expense in Q3 FY20 stood at ₹2,505 crore compared to ₹2,225 crore in same period prior year. Total expense in Q3 YoY increased to ₹6,852 crore from ₹6,124 crore in same period prior year. 
 
Profit before tax in Q3 FY20 increased to ₹92.50 crore from ₹70.25 crore in same period prior year. Profit before tax YoY basis increased to ₹153 crore compared to ₹119 crore.
