UK fitness brand Gymshark co-founder invests in sportswear brand AYBL

Bromsgrove-based British fitness apparel and accessories brand Gymshark co-founder Lewis Morgan has made a ‘significant investment’ in women’s sportswear brand AYBL, which now is set to accelerate its expansion. Morgan will be the executive chairman at the AYBL Group, with brothers Reiss and Kristian Edgerton, who founded the group in 2018, as joint chief executives.

Based in Redditch, the £50-million AYBL Group brings together AYBL and women’s fashion brand Because of Alice (BOA). The brothers teamed up with fashion influencer, Alice Cross in June 2020 to form BOA.
Morgan pocketed £100 million when he exited Gymshark in August 2020, according to British media reports.
The firm saw record profits of £2.8 million in 2020-21. It ships over 400,000 orders to more than 160 countries each year, and has a strong presence in the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands.
