The House of Lakme Grand Finale brought the curtains down at Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI with New York based CFDA award winner, Indian designer, Bibhu Mohapatra’s ‘Come Home’ collection. The evening was a special one as it marked the launch of the House of Lakme.

A step into the future, the House of Lakme brings together the brand’s leadership in beauty and its pioneering vision in bringing to life India’s marquee fashion platform – Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, to create immersive beauty and fashion experiences for the consumer.

After nearly a decade, it was a homecoming show for Bibhu Mohapatra’s ‘Come Home’ collection, which was a mesmerising look at fashion that was inspired by the enduring spirit of Indian women, combined with timeless designs and colours. It was also a celebration of Mohapatra’s roots and heritage in India. His collections have always spoken a language of sheer beauty and sophistication and have been coveted by the stylish global woman. On several occasions, Mohapatra has been the designer of choice for the world’s powerful and inspiring women.

Bibhu’s creations have a blend of style and elegance that has merged the beauty of India with the sensibilities of the western requirements. His construction and sharp tailoring for his dresses and show stopping gowns have turned into iconic fashion for trend setting women. The 75 stunning looks unveiled at the Grand Finale comprised not only Bibhu Mohapatra’s latest creations, but also brought on the ramp his much-loved iconic signature pieces that traced the journey of his eponymous global brand. These iconic pieces created a perfect parallel with Lakmé muses over the years, and the current face of Lakme, the radiant Ananya Panday.
