The United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA) recently joined US manufacturers, retailers, agricultural producers and other supply chain stakeholders to form the Tariff Reform Coalition, to ensure clearer guidelines and Congressional oversight on presidential tariff authority and restoring the balance of power delegated to the president on the authority.
The increasing use of tariffs as a negotiating mechanism negatively impacts American companies and consumers, as well as creates a historic imbalance between Congressional and executive powers, a statement from USFIA said.
US businesses and consumers continue to be adversely affected as the uncertainty over the US-China trade war propels onward, it added. (DS)
