President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has expressed eagerness to set up a textile factory in Tajikistan with Turkmen collaboration. Tajikistan conveyed that it would study the proposal.

At a joint business forum and exhibition of export products held in May last year in Dushanbe, Tajik entrepreneurs had shown significant interest in Turkmen textile products.

Chairman of the People's Council (Halk Maslahaty) of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Tajik Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda recently met in Dushanbe to discuss opening of trade houses in the capitals of both countries and trade and economic cooperation.

The senior Berdimuhamedov also suggested taking coordinated measures to raise trade volume and diversify the range of trade turnover by promoting direct links between private companies of the two countries, according to Turkmen media reports.

A joint business forum held last week discussed the possibility of bilateral collaboration in industrial complex building, fuel and energy, agriculture, transport and logistics, and investment activities.
