Turkey apparel exports up 5.91% y-o-y in Jan-Feb 2020

Apparel exports from Turkey increased by 5.91 per cent in the first two months of 2020 compared to the same period in last year, according to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute. In January-February 2020, Turkey exported apparel worth $2.739 billion, compared to exports of $2.586 billion clocked during the first two months of 2019, the data showed.
Category-wise, exports of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS chapter 61) earned $1.494 billion during the first-two months, registering an increase of 3.4 per cent from $1.445 billion earned during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Exports of non-knitted apparel and accessories (HS chapter 62) were valued at $1.245 billion, up 9.2 per cent from $1.141 billion exports made in the same period of 2019.
Meanwhile, exports of carpets, mats and tapestries (HS chapter 57) jumped 19.7 per cent to $442.443 million during the period under review.
