Apparel company Acushnet implements Centric PLM suite
17 Jun 20 2 min read
Acushnet, the golf equipment and apparel leader, has successfully gone live with Centric Software’s product lifecycle management (PLM) solution. Centric provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to fashion, retail, footwear, outdoor, luxury, consumer goods, and home décor companies to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.
Based in Massachusetts, Acushnet is the global leader in the design, development, manufacture and distribution of performance-driven golf products. Acushnet encompasses six golf brands, including equipment brand Titleist and footwear brand FootJoy.
“The company needed a PLM solution to handle more complex, growing operations. As we evolved, we collaborated with more sourcing partners around the globe using emails, Excel sheets and phone calls. We couldn’t run reports easily, it was cumbersome, and we lacked live and transparent information – we needed to get more efficient,” Jordan Harrop, senior analyst – FJ operations at Acushnet said in a Centric press release.
After an in-depth selection process, Acushnet chose Centric Outdoor PLM. Acushnet implemented Centric on time and on budget for FootJoy’s footwear division and Titleist’s golf gear division. Vendors are connected to the system, and Acushnet is now rolling Centric out across their apparel division and planning an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system integration.
“Centric PLM is flexible, configurable, user-friendly and can be implemented in phases. We now have one place for up-to-date information and real-time collaboration. Vendors enter data themselves, which saves time. The visibility is phenomenal. We can immediately see how decisions affect costing, rather than waiting for information from factories. Our regional merchandisers can also see each other’s assortments and collaborate with the US management team for better assortment planning. A single source of truth, rapid information access and enhanced visibility enables us to focus on launching better products at a better cost, faster,” Harrop said.
“We’re delighted that Acushnet is experiencing strong results. Acushnet is moving to a fully digitalised product development, manufacturing, and merchandising model, and we are proud to partner with them through their digital transformation,” Chris Groves, president and CEO of Centric said.
