Asics listed on Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2020
18 Nov 20 1 min read
Asics Corporation, a global sporting goods company, has been selected as a component company of Dow Jones Sustainability Asia/Pacific Index for sixth time. Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) are a series of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) indices jointly determined by S&P Dow Jones Indices (US) and ESG assessment company SAM (Switzerland).
The DJSI evaluates the sustainability of company business practices from three perspectives –– economic, environmental, and social––and only firms that are rated as leading their respective industries become component companies. The DJSI Asia/Pacific Index covers companies in the Asia and Oceania region, and 158 companies were selected this year, including 82 from Japan.
Asics has also been selected as a component company of another global SRI index, the FTSE4Good Index Series / FTSE Blossom Japan Index, created by FTSE Russell (UK), as well as the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index, compiled by MSCI (US).
Asics will continue to strive to fulfill its vision to “Create Quality Lifestyle through Intelligent Sport Technology” and to work with business partners that share its commitment to a sustainable and fair sporting goods industry.
