Mango gains 900,000 new online customers during lockdown

Mango, a Spanish fashion group, has gained almost 900,000 new online customers during the months of lockdown during Covid-19. With this growth, the company now has close to 6 million active customers on its e-commerce platforms. This increase in customers partly explains the growth in turnover achieved in this channel between March 15 and June 1.
Mango turnover grew by nearly 50 per cent compared to the same period in 2019.
During the same period, the multinational has also registered over 140 million visits to its e-commerce platforms, representing a 20 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
“In 2019, Mango online sales already accounted for 24 per cent of our total turnover. And this year, our e-commerce channel has exceeded the initial growth target of 20 per cent, which is without doubt an excellent figure,” Toni Ruiz, Mango CEO, said in a press release.
“The lockdown caused by the Covid-19 health crisis has intensified the process of digital transformation within the sector. The fact that we launched our e-commerce business 20 years ago has allowed us to face this exceptional circumstance with full guarantees and the capacity to deal with the growth in e-commerce. We will continue to accelerate the digital transformation of the entire company,” Ruiz said.
