ShopClues hires Deepak Sharma as CFO; prepares for IPO

Indian e-commerce marketplace ShopClues has appointed Deepak Sharma, former retail executive of V-Mart as its chief financial officer (CFO). The company is also preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) of equity. Sharma, a chartered accountant by profession with 24 years of experience in retail sector, had also led V-Mart through its IPO back in 2013.

An alumnus of St. Stephen’s collage, Delhi, Sharma had established various practices pertaining to financial reporting, corporate governance, disclosures, risk management, FP&A, investor relations and more. He has also worked with Punj Lloyd and Mitsui & Co.
ShopClues had delayed its plan for IPO last year due to demontisation and had announced that it will initiate it in 2018, said media reports. The company has collectively raised over $200 million, including $7.7 million in venture debt in May from InnoVen Capital. (KD)
