Japanese retailer Adastria's net sales soar 14.8% in 9M FY24

Adastria, a leading Japanese clothing retail company, has reported net sales of 203,252 million yen ($1,427.28 million) for the first nine months of fiscal 2024 (9M FY24), marking a 14.8 per cent increase from the 177,026 million yen recorded in the first nine months of FY23.

Operating profit saw an impressive 46 per cent jump, rising from 11,165 million yen in the first nine months of FY23 to 16,306 million yen in the same period of FY24.

The company's ordinary profit followed a similar upward trajectory, registering a 41.5 per cent increase. It rose by 4,902 million yen, from 11,805 million yen in 9M FY23 to 16,708 million yen in 9M FY24, Adastria said in a press release.

A notable highlight of Adastria's financial achievements is the substantial growth in net income attributable to owners of the parent, which soared by 51.5 per cent. The figure increased from 7,616 million yen in the first nine months of FY23 to 11,541 million yen in the corresponding period of FY24, marking a 3,924-million-yen increase.

The net income per share for the nine months ended November 30, 2023, stood at 254.10 yen. This compares to a net income per share of 168.09 yen in the same period the previous year.
