Myer appoints Jacquie Naylor as non-executive director

Myer has announced the appointment of Jacquie Naylor as a non-executive director, effective May 27, 2019. Myer is one of Australia’s largest department store groups with a focus on placing customers first in every decision they make and every action they take. The company operates 61 department stores across Australia, with around 11,500+ team members.

Naylor was a non-executive director of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival for more than 12 years and remains committed to showcasing the fashion industry as well as new and emerging talent. Naylor is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and of the International Women’s Forum, according to a Myer press release.

“Naylor is one of the most respected retailers in Australia and I am delighted that she is joining the Myer Board. With over thirty years of retail experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge of both women’s and men’s apparel, homewares and outdoor brands. She has been an owner, director, and executive at some of the most iconic Australian retailers including as an executive director and non-executive director at the Just Jeans Group, owner and adviser to boutique retailer, Husk, and a non-executive director at The PAS Group and at Cambridge Clothing. In addition, Jacquie was a non-executive director of one of the world’s most trusted outdoor brands, Macpac, which is sold in more than thirty countries,” Myer chairman Garry Hounsell said.

“Naylor has a record of improving the financial performance of the companies that she has been associated with and driving their strategic direction. In addition, she brings considerable ecommerce experience from her retail career and as a strategic adviser at Practicology, a digital marketing and ecommerce agency,” Hounsell added. (GK)
