VDMA to host webtalk on digitisation in textile dyeing

VDMA is set to host a technology webtalk on October 6, 2020. The webtalk will focus on automation and digitisation in textile dyeing and finishing. VDMA, the mechanical engineering industry association, has its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and represents around 3,200 members, making it the largest industry association in Europe.

The textile industry faces enormous challenges that includes fashion trends, flexible production, rising costs, reduced prices, sustainability requirements, and so on. To cope with these challenges and make reliable decisions, customers need automated processes, control systems and digitised data.

Axel Pieper from Brückner Textilmaschinen will speak on the topic of digitisation and the new possibilities it opens up for increasing productivity, reducing the use of resources, and improving quality’. Using the example of a stenter frame, Thomas Höpfl from Mahlo, will show the possible savings and optimisation potentials of data-controlled production, VDMA said in a press release.

Manfred Mentges from Sedo Treepoint will also participate in the webtalk. Sedo Treepoint supplies highly integrated systems from ERP level, linking to its MES systems, to the machine floor. He will speak on the various solutions for process management, colour management, printing and energy management, and establishing IoT / Industry40 systems.

After the presentations, the three experts will be available to answer the participants’ questions.
