Brrr's Apurba Banerjee in key posts in US AATCC panels

US company Brrr’s chief scientist Apurba Banerjee was recently elected to serve in several leadership positions of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colourists (AATCC). Banerjee was named vice chair of the C3 technical committee on research (TCR), chair of the yarn and other substrate committee and vice chair of the young professionals committee.

The position of TCR vice chair is often a pathway to serving on the association’s executive committee on research in the future, according to a press release from the company. Her three-year term begins in January.

The yarn and other substrate committee is a subcommittee of the thermoregulation committee.

Banerjee is a PhD in polymer, fibre and textile sciences from the University of Georgia and holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in textile and fibre processing from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai. She was also a graduate research assistant at the Colorado State University. (DS)
