| China clocks highest 6.92% annual growth in electricity consumption

- China recorded the highest annual electricity consumption growth at 6.92 per cent from 2016-2021, reaching 78,05,656 million kWh in 2021.
- India followed with a 4.43 per cent growth. The US, with a modest 0.29 per cent growth, remained the second largest consumer.
- Russia and Japan saw 1.80 per cent and -0.93 per cent growth, respectively.
