China-Europe freight train trips from Suifenhe port rise by 72.4%

Suifenhe port in northeast China has witnessed a 72.4 per cent year-on-year increase in China-Europe freight train services in the first seven months of 2022. The port, which is situated on the China-Russia border, managed 462 China-Europe train trips during the period.

Around 47,133 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of goods were transported via Suifenhe port, which is a rise of 95.8 per cent year-on-year, as per Suifenhe customs in Heilongjiang province.

Suifenhe customs has been taking steps to shorten the operation time of freight trains at Suifenhe port and make customs clearance more efficient, a custom official Yang Fang was quoted as saying by Chinese media reports.

Moreover, the total number of China-Europe freight train trips surged by 3 per cent year-on-year to 8,990 during the first seven months of 2022.
