CMYUK, an independent supplier of wide-format digital printing technology, cutting/finishing equipment and materials, has become the exclusive distributor for Pongs Direct-Tex Softimage Contrast (Black Back Textile) and the groundbreaking Illuminati in the UK. Illuminati is the backlit textile for dye sublimation printing with a natural soft textile feel.
“Direct-Tex Softimage Contrast is the perfect solution for large exhibition wall wraps and event backdrops” says Michael Crook, commercial director at CMYUK, “It has a true black reverse with excellent opacity and a super bright-white print face. It also has stretch, which makes the installation of super-wide graphics that little bit easier. It is printable from both dye sublimation and UV equipment, with excellent colour punch and image quality.”
Also available exclusively from CMYUK is Pongs Illuminati – the latest backlit textile for dye sublimation printing, offering a natural soft textile feel, perfect stretch and excellent colour reproduction.
“The technology behind this new knitted textile eliminates pinholes when backlit and Illuminati’s soft-touch structure greatly reduces creasing and bruising, making it the perfect backlit textile for retail displays,” Crook adds. “The UK textile market is growing rapidly and Pongs Contrast and Illuminati spearhead this growth.”
The textiles’ supreme performance is reflected in sales growth as CMYUK notices a switch to more environmentally friendly PVC-free solutions, within both retail and event sectors.
Roland Güthoff, head of sales at Pongs , says, “We are thrilled to have CMYUK as a partner – we’ve got complete faith that this is the right company to distribute our innovative textiles in the UK, especially for the digital print market. Our aim is to develop more technical textiles, maintaining our position as a world-leading manufacturer and innovator. It is reassuring to have such a professional company as CMYUK to walk this path alongside us.”
Robin East, group director at CMYUK concludes, “These two new exciting materials from Pongs are groundbreaking developments, and materials that the market has been waiting for in perfect form.” (SV)
