Euro area’s annual inflation is expected to be 6.9 per cent in March 2023, down from 8.5 per cent in February, as per a flash estimate from Eurostat.

Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, non-energy industrial goods stood at 6.6 per cent, compared with 6.8 per cent in February and energy at -0.9 per cent, compared with 13.7 per cent in February, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), said in a press release.

The euro area’s annual inflation rate was 8.5 per cent in February 2023, down from 8.6 per cent in January, while a year earlier, the rate was 5.9 per cent.
